Research

Simultaneous Navigator for Autonomous Identification and Localization Robot

This paper presents a robot system which is named SNAIL Bot. It uses a 2D 360-degree LiDAR and IMU to localize itself with respect to the environment. The robot is also equipped with a 2-DOF camera to detect ArUco markers for loop closures. The robot is able to generate a map of the environment and localize itself with respect to the map.

Baxter Chessbot

Baxter Chessbot is a project that uses the Baxter Robot from Rethink Robotics to play a game of chess. The robot is capable of recognizing the state of the game, making its own moves, and physically moving the pieces on the board.
